Definition – A number’s exponent indicates how many times it should be multiplied.

Let’s see the example-

In 42 the “2” says to use 4 twice in a multiplication,

so 42 = 4 × 4 = 16

In other words, we can say- 4^2 can be expressed as “4 to the power 2,” “4 to the second power,” or just “4 squared”.

But there are many scenario here:

Scenario 1:

Explanation:

It is simple. Consider it this way. What happens if we divide any number by itself? The anwser is 1. Eg. 5/5=1, 10/10=1. Similarly, X^3/X^3=1 The exponent subtraction rule also tells us that X^3/X^3= X(3-3)=X^0. Because X^3 is x.x.x, we have x.x.x in both the numerator & denominator. As a result, both the numerator & denominator will be struck out, yielding a result of 1.

In other words, we can say- X^0 can be expressed as “X to the power 0,” “X to the Zero power”.

Scenario 2:

In other words, we can say- 0^0 can be expressed as “0 to the power 0,” “0 to the Zero power”.
